Ascend Community Center, located in Cambridge Ontario, is the ideal community center for families or groups to partake in or spectate recreational activities. The layout of Ascend ensures that events taking place within the center can be enjoyed from anywhere within the building. This was achieved by prioritizing open spaces and viewing connection opportunities across all program types. Strategically placed curtain walls and changing the site topography are responsible for this achievement. The curtain walls provide direct access for visitors to look into the gym from multiple locations; including outside, the library, and the main lobby atrium. The slope change between the high and low ground creates a grand hill that is used to attract visitors to the outdoor portion of the site.

Along with the site and architecture, the building's structure, mechanical system, and electrical system were designed.
